London

Well, helllloooo friendos

Welcome

I guess it’s happening. This is my first official Blogpost. A bit weird that it’s about London, not necessarily a city I have a relationship with, but I’ve spent more than 1 month here and got the chance to explore and get to know the city a bit.

Some of you even asked me if I moved here, since I’ve been posting stories and photos from London for over a month now. To be honest, I did have the chance to move to London for a year. So I got the opportunity of getting to know the city and decide whether to stay or well.. to leave. I’m not staying.  Turns out, it’s not my city. At all.  The rhythm is way too different from what my soul is comfortable with. Too fast. I literally couldn’t keep up with the Londoners, who seem to be constantly running from one point to another. So yes, the whole city is a bit overwhelming for little oz 😀 Too loud, too fast and waay too crowded. Oh, and one major downer is also that it’s SO DRAMATICALLY EXPENSIVE. Why must you be like this, London.

But don’t get me wrong, I did like the city, I just wouldn’t like to live here. London is extremely lively, vibrant, colorful, cool and diverse. I wanna say cool again, cause it’s so so cool, I’m telling you. I’ve never been to New York but I imagine that the vibes are pretty similar (which one New Yorker friend of mine approved! hah! Hi darling Louisa!) I actually had a great time exploring the city – but needed double that time to actually digest everything. I will definitely come back.

(When I’m exploring a city, I tend to walk aimlessly. Taking random trains in random directions, getting out when the stop sounds interesting. So far this has been the best way for me to really get to know a city and find the most beautiful corners and cafés.)

Ok now. Let the pictures speak:

I found this café by chance and I thank god I did. When I walked in, I immediately had this feeling of peace and serendipity. It’s danish and you can definitely feel the Hygge inside! (Also, they have the best Cheese Kimchi Toast! Highly recommended!!)

The Landmark London

A perfect place for tea time! Especially with their live piano – playing throughout the day. And if you know me, you know that I’m a sucker for palm trees.

My jaw literally dropped when I walked out of the Underline station. You have to see it to understand what I’m talking about.

Camden Market

The market was pretty cool but what I urge you to do – if you ever go there – is this:

CHIN CHIN – go to chin chin and get your sticky toffee pudding with ice cream. It’s to die for. I’m serious. GO! (I don’t have a picture, cause I was so excited lol)

This, people, is life. If you don’t know what a souffle pancake is, I’m more than happy to introduce you to edible heaven. It tastes like clouds. You’re welcome.
Oh and DON’T use the address from maps.
This is the address:
Unit 18, Brunswick Centre, Marchmont St, Bloomsbury, London WC1N 1AE
(very close to Russell Square Station)

  • Ben’s Cookies – best soft cookies! I loved the milk chocolate one. It’s divine.
  • The Hummingbird Bakery – Their cupcakes are LIFE.
  • Dominique Ansel Bakery – do yourself a favor and eat a frozen s’more there
  • Violet – for the best banana bread of your life. I promise.
  • The Breakfast Club Soho
  • The Barn (Café)
  • Kitchen & Pantry – in Notting Hill. Hands down, the best coffee I had in London.
  • Tate Britain – Museum

This is it, for now.
Hope you liked it:)
